Silke Douma
Molecular biology analyst
"I like the fact that I can help contribute to a more sustainable world with my work in the laboratory."

Silke studied Biotechnology at Van Hall Larenstein in Leeuwarden with a specialisation in Biomedical Research and a minor in Human Health & Food.

During her studies, she gained a considerable amount of lab experience during her internship at various laboratories, including Eurofins in Heerenveen and at the Department of Medical Microbiology of the UMCG.

Silke likes hands-on practical work and enjoys being able to contribute to the various projects within both Microbial Analysis and Bioclear earth with her analyses in the laboratory.  She is very interested in natural processes within microbiology and their applicability in society.

Her colleagues find her to be someone you can rely on. Silke works silently, observes everything closely and tackles things quickly and 100%.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking and skiing.
