Meintje de Vries
'Microorganisms are part of our environment, as well as an important part of us, so we all have to deal with them.'
Meintje received her Bachelor's degree in Life Science & Technology, specialising in Molecular Life Sciences, and her Master's degree in Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Groningen. She then worked for several years at Biotrack/NL-Lab on creating and marketing products, with a focus on research into the microbes in the human gut.
At Bioclear earth, Meintje supports both the Soil & Water and Soil Health teams with her expertise in microbiological processes. She is driven by a desire to introduce others to the wonderful world of microbiology and its importance for our living environment.
One of Meintje's characteristics is that she likes to be well prepared. She gets things done and comes up with creative, new ideas. Her sharp insight, independent attitude and commitment make her a truly invaluable colleague and an absolute pleasure to work with.
In her spare time, she plays korfball, swims and does jumping fitness. She also enjoys theatre and museum visits, cycling, hiking, and performing in open-air theatre productions.
