During his childhood on a dairy farm and his master Chemistry Sytze became intrigued by the resourcefulness of nature. His belief that many environmental problems can be solved with the power of nature, resulted in the founding of Bioclear in 1988, as a Spin-off company of the University Groningen.

He is known for his talent to think outside the box and his ability to come up with unexpected visions and solutions. Sytze is known for his talent to stimulate and challenge people and bring out the best in them.

In his spare time he likes to read and to build or reconstruct things.
